The annual mosquito control program has been underway since mid-April. Local field staff have been sampling and treating developing larval mosquito populations in ground-accessible sites since then.

The 4th Ave rehabilitation project has started with partial removal of the pavement. Two-lane, two-way traffic will remain in place over the weekend up until utility work begins.
Asphalt milling to remove the uphill lane from the bottom hairpin corner on Fourth Avenue to Creston Street, and both lanes between Trail Street and Creston Street is planned to start on Wednesday, April 24th.
Weather-permitting, crews from the City of Cranbrook, with assistance from the British Columbia Wildfire Service are planning a prescribed burn at the River's Crossing Park over the next two weeks. Date and timing of the prescribed burn will be announced closer to the day of the burn.
