The City of Kimberley is considering amendments to the City of Kimberley Zoning Bylaw, 1850.

The amendments proposed are to allow more clarity and flexibility within the existing C-1 Central Commercial Zone and to include or refine some definitions that will apply to the overall Bylaw. The purpose of these amendments are to:

  • Fully amend the C-1 zoning to support more uses and provide greater variety business opportunities;
  • Add or modify some definitions in order to provide greater clarity and reflect a more modern economy;
  • Explicitly protect existing single-family use to alleviate concerns with evolving insurance and mortgage practices; and,
  • Perform some general amendments for better consistency throughout the Bylaw, including the renaming of the C-1 Central Commercial Zone to C-1 Commercial Zone.

The proposed zone amendment in Bylaw 2594 will apply to all lands currently zoned C-1 Central Commercial Zone and the definition amendments apply to all lands contained within Schedule “A” of the City of Kimberley Zoning Bylaw, No. 1850, 1994.
