Kimberley Avenue Reconstruction Project Update
The City of Kimberley is preparing to begin major infrastructure improvements along Kimberley Avenue. Following a competitive procurement process, the project has been awarded to Gally Equipment Services Ltd. Based on the City’s positive experience working with this contractor on previous projects, we are confident the work will be completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Gally Equipment Services has proposed beginning construction in early August 2026, with mobilization and site set-up activities potentially starting in late July.
Project Overview
This important project will include:
- Underground Utility Improvements
- Road Reconstruction and Restructuring
- Active Transportation Improvements
- Traffic Pattern Changes
These upgrades will improve the long-term reliability, safety, accessibility, and functionality of this key downtown corridor.
What to Expect During Construction
Residents, businesses, and visitors should anticipate some temporary disruptions during construction, including:
- Traffic delays, detours, and lane closures
- Temporary access restrictions to properties and businesses
- Construction noise and dust
- Increased heavy equipment activity
- Occasional utility service interruptions
- Temporary parking restrictions
Every effort will be made to minimize impacts while maintaining a safe work environment for workers and the public.
