Utility payments are due March 10th, June 10th, September 10th and December 10th. When the 10th of the month falls on a weekend, the due date becomes the following Monday. For 2020 only, the due date for the 2nd quarter utilities has been deferred from June 10th to August 10th to help provide some financial relief to those impacted by the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Payments must be received at City Hall by 4:45 pm on the due date. The City accepts cash, cheques or debit cards at the cashier counter. Payments can also be made at most financial institutions, through telephone banking, internet banking or wire transfers. Post-dated cheques are also acceptable. Please contact City Hall at 250.427.5311 for more information on payment methods.
Payments are first applied to any outstanding (overdue) amounts and then to current amounts.
The City of Kimberley also offers a convenient utilities pre-payment plan. Download the authorization and cancellation forms by clicking the links below.
Utility bills that are outstanding after the due date are subject to a 10% penalty.
Utility balances outstanding on December 31st are transferred to property taxes as arrears taxes and will be charged interest at the prescribed rate.
