City Honours Jack Ratcliffe, Seeks Nominations for the 2025 Commitment to Community Award

The City of Kimberley will continue to honour the incredible dedication of Jack Ratcliffe by inviting nominations for the Jack Ratcliffe Commitment to Community Award. Named after its inaugural recipient, the annual award celebrates individuals or groups who have made a significant and lasting contribution to our community through their time, actions, dedication, and talents.

This annual award was established in 2020 to honour Ratcliffe, whose decades of service and volunteerism shaped Kimberley in countless ways. Jack passed away in December 2025, leaving behind an extraordinary legacy of commitment to community. His name continues to symbolize the spirit of giving and civic pride that make Kimberley such a special place. 

“Jack was the embodiment of community spirit,” said Mayor McCormick. “His decades of service, generosity, and leadership touched every corner of Kimberley. With Jack's passing this past fall, this award takes on added significance this year.”

Nomination Criteria:

  • Nominees must be residents of Kimberley (no age restriction).
  • They must have demonstrated a long-term commitment to the community (minimum of 3 years).
  • Their contributions should have significantly enhanced the quality of life of Kimberley residents through volunteerism, leadership, and service.

Award Details:

The recipient’s name will be engraved on the “Jack Ratcliffe Commitment to Community” plaque displayed at City Hall. They will receive an award and can donate $500 to a registered not-for-profit or incorporated charity of their choice.
