The City of Kimberley is inviting residents to help shape the future of walking, rolling and cycling in the community through an update to its Active Transportation Network Plan.
The plan guides the development of routes and connections that help people move safely, conveniently and comfortably throughout Kimberley. Active transportation includes walking, running, rolling, cycling and using mobility devices. A well-connected network supports everyday travel, provides recreation opportunities, attracts visitors, and contributes to the health and wellbeing of the community.
As part of the update, the City is seeking feedback from residents to better understand challenges and opportunities for walking, cycling and rolling around Kimberley. Community input will help identify priorities for future improvements and investments that enhance safety, comfort, accessibility and connectivity.

As a follow-up to the previous press release on the fire that occurred at the Kimberley Public Works Yard on Christmas Eve, we would like to provide additional information to the community.
At approximately 4:00 p.m. today, the Kimberley Fire Department responded to a fire at the Public Works Yard. Fire crews arrived quickly and were able to contain and extinguish the fire.
The Kimberley Fire Department is currently managing a fire at the City’s Public Works Yard. The situation is under control, and there have been no injuries reported.
Due to unexpected mechanical issues with the collection truck, the Route C garbage pickup scheduled for today, December 18th, will be delayed to tomorrow, Friday, December 19th.
We are currently addressing a water main break in the area surrounding Selkirk Secondary School. The school and homes within the area outlined on the attached map are affected.
