Prescribed Burn Planned Near Forest Crowne Estates

To help reduce the risk of wildfires, the BC Wildfire Service is supporting the City of Kimberley in conducting a prescribed burn in the Forest Crowne Estates West area. This burn is located between St. Mary’s Lake Road and the Forest Crowne Estates Development, within the City of Kimberley, and will cover up to 12 hectares.
The exact timing of this burn will depend on weather and site conditions, but it could begin as early as Thursday, September 18, 2025. Smoke may impact residents near the burn area and may be visible from Kimberley and surrounding communities, and to motorists travelling along Highway 95A.
