City of Kimberley to Recognize National Day of Mourning for Queen Elizabeth II

The City of Kimberley will recognize the National Day of Mourning on Monday, September 19, to mark the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

City Hall will be closed on Monday, September 19, and will reopen on Tuesday, September 20, at 8:30 am. The Civic Centre Arena will be open for all regularly booked ice time activities. The walking track will be closed. The Aquatic Centre will be open for regularly scheduled lessons, after-school programming and limited use public swim. Public washrooms in parks and playfields will be open.

The Government of Canada announced the National Day of Mourning as a day to reflect on the life of Queen Elizabeth II on the day of her funeral. The Government of British Columbia will also recognize the day with the closure of most Crown corporations and all K-12 public schools and public post-secondary institutions.
