Reminder: Kimberley Staying on Mountain Daylight Saving Time

Posted:

The City of Kimberley is reminding residents that there will be no time change this November.

Kimberley will follow the Regional District of East Kootenay’s decision to observe Mountain Daylight Saving Time year-round. That means clocks in Kimberley will not be turned back this November. We'll stay on the time we’re on now.

The RDEK Board made the decision in August following a regional survey that received more than 14,000 responses. Of those respondents, 89% supported ending twice-yearly clock changes, while 66% preferred Mountain Daylight Saving Time.

The City supports maintaining a consistent approach across the East Kootenay.

While you won’t need to change your clocks this fall, this is still a good time to check your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms and replace batteries if needed.

So, this November, enjoy the easiest time change ever: leave your clocks alone, but give those alarms a check!
