Water Main Repair – Traffic Impacts on Highway 95A
The City of Kimberley will be completing a water main repair on Highway 95A in front of the BC Ambulance Station.
Project Timeline: Tuesday, May 19 to Friday, May 22
Traffic Impacts
- Highway 95A will be reduced to single lane, alternating traffic through the work zone.
- Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to plan extra travel time.
Road Closures
- Knighton Road will be closed to northbound traffic travelling toward Jennings Avenue, open to local traffic only.
- There will be no turning into or out of Jennings Avenue, and southbound travel from Jennings toward Knighton Road will not be permitted.
Access
- Local traffic access will be maintained.
- Access to Home Hardware Building Centre will remain available throughout construction.
Traffic control personnel and signage will be in place to guide vehicles safely through the area. The City thanks residents and motorists for their patience during this essential infrastructure repair.

As a follow-up to the previous press release on the fire that occurred at the Kimberley Public Works Yard on Christmas Eve, we would like to provide additional information to the community.
At approximately 4:00 p.m. today, the Kimberley Fire Department responded to a fire at the Public Works Yard. Fire crews arrived quickly and were able to contain and extinguish the fire.
The Kimberley Fire Department is currently managing a fire at the City’s Public Works Yard. The situation is under control, and there have been no injuries reported.
Due to unexpected mechanical issues with the collection truck, the Route C garbage pickup scheduled for today, December 18th, will be delayed to tomorrow, Friday, December 19th.
We are currently addressing a water main break in the area surrounding Selkirk Secondary School. The school and homes within the area outlined on the attached map are affected.

Work on the new Swan Ave Playground is beginning this week. Contractors expect to complete work by October 2022.
A water main break has occurred on Wallinger Ave in front of Canada Post and has forced a full road closure. Detours are in place. Work is expected to continue through Thursday, July 7th.

City Staff have made the decision to close the Kimberley Aquatic Centre at this time. Effective at 8:00 p.m. today, March 16th, the Aquatic Centre will suspend all operations.
