Water Service Interruption – Emergency Repair Underway
Update 05-19-2026 at 4:08 pm: Water Repairs Continue Tomorrow
Water service will be shut off again tomorrow from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm for properties along Jennings Avenue, Collette Manor, and Church Avenue as outlined in the attached map.
Crews will work to restore service sooner if possible. We appreciate your patience as repairs are completed.
05-19-2026 at 1:00 pm: Crews investigating the dig site on Highway 95A and Jennings Avenue (in front of the ambulance station) have located the water leak.
To safely complete the necessary emergency repairs, water service must be temporarily shut off to the surrounding area.
Affected areas: Jennings Avenue, extending to Collette Manor and Church Avenue.
The shut-off is effective immediately. Crews are working to complete repairs as quickly and safely as possible.
As this was an active and unpredictable leak, we were unfortunately unable to provide advance notice before locating the break.
We apologize for the sudden inconvenience and appreciate your patience while crews work to resolve the issue.
Updates will be provided as repairs progress and when service is restored.

As a follow-up to the previous press release on the fire that occurred at the Kimberley Public Works Yard on Christmas Eve, we would like to provide additional information to the community.
At approximately 4:00 p.m. today, the Kimberley Fire Department responded to a fire at the Public Works Yard. Fire crews arrived quickly and were able to contain and extinguish the fire.
The Kimberley Fire Department is currently managing a fire at the City’s Public Works Yard. The situation is under control, and there have been no injuries reported.
Due to unexpected mechanical issues with the collection truck, the Route C garbage pickup scheduled for today, December 18th, will be delayed to tomorrow, Friday, December 19th.
We are currently addressing a water main break in the area surrounding Selkirk Secondary School. The school and homes within the area outlined on the attached map are affected.
